Abstract

The machining tool for stress grooves of double connecting rods with single wire developed in this paper is a new type of wire-free electrical discharge machining (EDM) tool. This machining tool use an electrode wire to cut stress grooves on both sides of the inner surface of the large-end holes of the two connecting rods simultaneously, so the research of servo control method is crucial. Based on the analysis of the cutting process, a time-sharing fuzzy control method is proposed to ensure that the machining tool can cut the stress grooves of the two connecting rods simultaneously, and improve the production efficiency. The experimental results show that the machining tool can complete the double-sided stress groove cutting on the inner surface of the large-end holes of the two connecting rods simultaneously within 20 s. Compared with two-way synchronous wire EDM tool for stress grooves of connecting rods, the machining tool with time-sharing fuzzy control takes less time to complete the stress groove cutting, and the groove width and groove depth are more accurate, which achieves the expected goal.
