Abstract

To improve the control accuracy of high-speed trains, this paper develops an adaptive tracking control scheme for the multiple point-mass model of high-speed trains to achieve asymptotic tracking of a given velocity trajectory. Firstly, by analyzing the forces on the high-speed trains, a multiple point-mass dynamic model of high-speed trains is obtained, in which the nonlinear resistances and the workshop forces between adjacent cars are considered. Then, a direct adaptive control strategy is derived to realize track of a given velocity trajectory, by fully using the capacity of adaptive control in handling uncertainties. Taking CRH380A high-speed train as an example, the simulation verifies that the multi-point adaptive control strategy has high accuracy in tracking the given speed curve, and can meet the requirements of the high-speed train’s intelligent operation.
